With Modbus IOscnanner of SoMachine what is the significance of trigger type while configuring Modbus channel of as shown with below screen snap.

Trigger can be defined of two types with Modbus IOScanner channel.
  1. Cyclic
  2. Rising Edge

With “Cyclic” type of trigger set Modbus request (Modbus function code 03 H (Read Multiple holding register) or 10 H (Write Multiple holding registers)
or 17H (Read/ write multiple holding registers)) sent cyclically to the slave at defined rate with cycle time (milliseconds)

With “Rising edge” type of trigger, set Modbus request (Modbus function code 03 H (Read Multiple holding register) or 10 H (Write Multiple holding registers)
or 17H (Read/ write multiple holding registers)) sent only upon detection of rising edge of boolean variable. (This boolean variable is then created in the Modbus Master I/O Mapping tab)
as shown with below attachment
