Ask a Question

What is the significance of rectangular sensor terminals M1, M2, and M3 which is being used with Micrologic 7.0A  for Earth leakage protection.

The external rectangular sensor is composed by 2 differents coils. The sensor's terminal indication is like : M1-M2-M3
M1 : test
M2 : measure
M3: comon point test and measure
One dedicated to measure the earth leakage current (M2-M3) and a second used for the test (M1-M3). When test push-button is pressed, the current is injected to the test coil by the trip unit.
By injecting this current, the measure coil send the signal value to the ASIC in order to trip the device. So this configuration allow to test the sensor connection.
