Historian Web Client cannot display published information with error "Unexpected error (0x8003001e) [Microsoft ADO/RDS]" on Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 machines.
After successfully logging into the Historian web client and clicking on the Web Client button, the web client displays the following message: Unexpected error (0x8003001e) [Microsoft ADO/RDS].
The cause of this issue is due to Microsoft security update KB2698365 that blocks the Historian web client. This is caused by a broken binary compatibility between msado15.dll v6.1.7601.17514 (the original) and v6.1.7601.17857 (KB2698365). Therefore, the incompatibility occurs in RDS components at the time when a recordset is marshalled back to Historian web client. The error code 80004002 in IIS log means "No such interface supported".
