What are the possible confriguation available in Tesys T for Thermal overload trip.

There are two possible confriguation available in Tesys T for Thermal overload trip

1. Definite Time: With this selection if you set the FLC to be 100A ,the thermal overload trip will happen if the current exceeds 100A . There is a delay timeout setting during the Start mode and during the Run mode. This delay time during starting is to avoid the unwarranted trip on thermal overload during starting when the motor is picking up the speed and the current is high.
During Run mode the delay time avoid the tripping for the transient overcurrent situations.

2. Inverse Thermal : The second and the default selection for Thermal overload relay is the Inverse thermal setting . Here the tripping of Thermal overload relay is based on the Trip class and the thermal image of the motor . It follows the hot and cold state curves based on the motor opertating condition.
There is no scalar indication to tripping value and time and you need to follow the attached curves to know the tripping time vis a vis the motor operating state.
