Ask a Question

How can I synchronize an external clock with BMXP342020 CPU.

Using an external clock you can sync the clock time of BMX 342020 CPU and that can only possible by using either BMX NOE or BMX NOC module.

To synchronize from an external clock you need to use BMX NOE or NOC module by configuring your NOE / NOC module as NTP client and use any system or external clock as NTP Server. For more details on setting up the NTP client in BMX NOE please see the attached document.

Apart from above to check the configuration you can also set your PC as NTP server and then BMX NOE can connect your PC to get time data for time sync.

Follow the below steps to set your PC and NTP time server:

The Win 7 PC was configured as follows:
1. In the 'Services' window(part of Administrative Tools) Stop the 'Windows Time' service if already running. The 'Startup Type' could be set as Manual or Automatic depending on the user needs.
2. In the Registry Editor following changes to be made under the Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32Time:
** Config -> AnnounceFlags = 5.
** HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpServer -> Enabled = 1.
3. Start the 'Windows Time' service in the 'Services' window(part of Administrative Tools).
