LV Components:
In Electrical System, the connection of capacitors produces reactive energy needed by loads such as motors. The result is a reduced apparent power in the transmission and distribution networks, and an improved power factor. The power generation and transmission networks are then partially relieved, reducing power losses and making additional transmission capability available.
The LV capacitor Range offers two different types of construction, in terms of envelope material:

Detuned Reactors:

Reactors have to be associated to capacitor banks for Power Factor Correction in systems with significant non-linear loads, generating harmonics. Capacitors and reactors are configured in a series resonant circuit & the configuration is usually called "Detuned Capacitor Bank", and the reactors referred as "Detuned Reactors". The use of detuned reactors thus prevents harmonic resonance problems, avoids the risk of overloading the capacitors and contributes to reducing voltage harmonic distortion in the network. |
