I work as an R&D engineer in the Installation Systems and Control Department. My work in this department entails design and development of systems to address the new requirements, based on the market study of the Offer Creation Department. The products I design, being interfaces between a human and electricity, are to be safe and reliable. They are to be durable and ergonomical, to be appreciated and accepted in the market place and visually appealing to be used as a décor or as a symbol of status in some cases

I am currently involved in developing products for European markets targeting hotels and commercial and residential buildings. The new offer to the market includes additional innovative features integrated with existing products. Also, attempts are being made to further improve the operational feel of the products.

This calls for development of novel operating mechanisms, subjected to series of tests checking for safety, reliability and durability on prototypes. Our in-house prototyping facility and laboratory have favored us in quick verification of the concept thoughts. Knowledge of plastic design, sheet-metal design, mechanics and electricity has been helping to develop better designs for our customers.

The products developed being totally new offers for the market, have tremendous opportunity in generating patentable ideas developed to deliver better design compared to existing benchmarked products in the market.  The design would finally go through a rigorous and strict evaluation by our customers before they hit the market.

I enjoy my work at Schneider Electric. It challenges me to use creativity combined with my technical skills, thereby providing me an amazing learning experience. Also, one gets to interact and exchange knowledge with experienced European designers.

It feels great to be a part of the design and development of products, being evaluated and appreciated by customers.
