                - allows staff to have clear visibility of room status.
              • Energy management for rooms which are occupied, temporarily unoccupied or vacant corresponds to different comfort levels.
                It allows substantial reduction in the consumption of fuel and electricity - between 15% and 30% of energy costs.

              Main characteristics

              With the courtesy panel and key card holder, this solution improves the service level and reduces energy consumption in the room when the guest is away.
              Combining sensors and a unique user interface, the advanced EIB lighting control system will meet the needs of a broad range of applications and provide additional energy savings.
              With integration to third party systems, this open solution facilitates the exchange of information with the building management system. It contributes to additional energy savings and ensures improved guest comfort.

              Typical values for a large 5 star hotel - 600 to 800 rooms:

              • Energy bill: between 600.000€ & 1.000.000€ per year
              • Split of the kW installed in the hotel: Total is around 4000 kW
              • HVAC (Cold water production, distribution, Air Handling Units, Fan coil, Boilers, Pumps): 2300 kW
              • Sanitary Water: 200 kW
              • Lighting: 600 kW
              • Lifts: 600 kW
              • Others (Kitchen, ...): 200 kW
              • Heating period: 210 days (October to April)
              • Occupancy rate: 75%
              • Guestroom unoccupied: 8 hours / day


              Typical savings based on the proposed solutions:

              • The proposed solution allows regulation, optimisation & management of occupancy fluctuation.
              • The objective is to be able to fluctuate the temperature by a few degrees when the room is unoccupied or during the night.

              A change of 1 degree in the room saves 3% of the energy bill of the HVAC system.

              As HVAC is the main user of energy in the hotel, the impact of the solution is significant without reducing the comfort of the guest.
