What is the formula to calculate disk storage for Scaled and Floating Point methods used for trends in Vijeo Citect.

  • In Scaled method, each data sample requires 2 bytes of storage. You can therefore calculate the total disk storage necessary for each trend by using the following formula:
           - Bytes necessary for each trend = 464 x No. Files + 176 + ( File Period (secs) x (No. Files) x 2 ) / Sample Period (secs)
  • In Floating Point method, each sample requires 8 bytes of storage. Below formula is used to calculate total disk storage needed:
           - Bytes necessary for each trend = 704 x No. Files + 160 + ( File Period (secs) x (No. Files) x 8 ) / Sample Period (secs)
